Process
01Discover
Ran two rounds of five interviews with Performers and Passionates on keeping fitness routines going outside the gym.
02Define
Defined program architecture, activity types, and enrollment flow with the performance team, guided by simplicity and member empowerment.
03Design
Sketched schedule customization as a team, then built the full wireframe flow and prototype for enrollment, plans, and activities.
04Test
Testing exposed ambiguous levels and complex scheduling, so we removed level selection and chose member autonomy over rigid customization.
Key decisions

- AThe next activity sits on the program card itself, removing the question of what to do today
- BThe current program leads the home page with progress on the card, so members pick up where they left off
- CA “Not sure?” path routes undecided members to a coach consult instead of a dead end
- DConsults and classes sit beside programs, connecting self-led training to live coaching

- AProgress sits on the program hero, so members always know how far they’ve come
- BWeek tabs break a multi-week program into steps that feel achievable
- CEvery activity shows type and minutes up front, so members fit it into the time they have
- DFuture days collapse, keeping the week scannable and today’s work in focus

- AWeek, day, and completion sit above the title, keeping members oriented inside the program
- BEquipment is stated up front, even when none is needed, so no one is caught unprepared
- CVideo leads the page, putting coaching first, with description and equipment in support
- DThe next activity is queued below, keeping momentum without a trip back to the plan
What research showed
- 01
Time was the biggest obstacle: members needed to fit activities around their days through adjustments or autonomy.
- 02
A plan that went beyond fitness into lifestyle was seen as a chance to keep learning and evolving.
- 03
Challenges weren’t essential, but they drove competitive spirit and a camaraderie that’s hard to find outside the gym.
